This lesson is intended for seventh grade students who are in the process of covering SSS 3- The Solar system. They are only expected to have previous knowledge from prior grade levels as outlined in the SSS and information covered in days one, two, three, and four of this lesson.

Objective:
Given reading material, Bill Nye video and access to a computer/laptop equipped with kidspiration/inspiration, the seventh graders in my class will be able to identify key facts regarding asteroids, comets, and meteors and create an organizational chart, 85% of the Knowledge Statements listed must be covered.
-When achieved this objective will cover the knowledge, comprehension and application levels on Bloom’s taxonomy.

Inspiration or Kidspiration/Computer: Students will be making their final organizational chart that will act as an outline for their final project (the power point presentation) based on today’s lesson.

R. (Require Learner Participation)
As a group students will watch the Bill Nye the Science Guy clip. The teacher will then spend five to ten minutes discussing facts that impressed or surprised the students. After the video, students will read individually from their textbook, which will cover the above-mentioned Knowledge/Skill Statements. Finally, students will create their last organizational chart on the day’s lesson in kidspiration or inspiration (to be used to create their power point project).

E. (Evaluate)
Student comprehension will be evident based on their participation in class discussion and completion of their organizational chart.
